Anyone fishing it next week? I was thinking of driving down from Wichita Falls to give it a go. I’ve personally never have fished one before but it looks like a lot of fun. I’ve also never fished those lakes either.

I've been thinking about it too.. only fished one for the north team back when it was north vs south. Now there are several regions taking part. Good times! cheers

I'm gonna do this, playing for the north team... haven't fished it since it was north/south at Limestone a few years ago. Lots more regional teams these days and looks like there's going to be a lot of guys entered. Anyone else going? These team tournaments are the best... its still about trying to do well but you got lots of team mates on the water. I smell victory. roflmao

Hydrilla everywhere to 15 feet.

Fished the bridge pilings off and on all day throwing a 6xd crank bait. Would have bet my life I would have caught something. Tried every retrieve I knew and never got a bite.Went back to the grass edges and finally got bit throwing a craw on small underspin. Lost a good one that shook off in the grass after pulling drag and almost dumped me when it went under my kayak and got me off balance.. Caught a couple of 6 inchers and then finally caught a good one. Didn’t submit picture as I was beat and it wasn’t going to help the team.

Lots of kayakers that have never fished a tournament were entered. Was great seeing some of my old buds that still fish the regional and National kayak tournament trails.. sure would be nice to see them posting on here again. cheers

We got down there midday Friday after the 4hr drive and drove around the lake looking for launch sites. We decided on Leona Park in the river and it wasn’t the best decision bite was slow and we managed 3 and 4 fish. Worked points but could never get anything going. I personally really underestimated how low the lake was.

On a positive note we had an absolute blast and definitely plan to go next year where ever it may be at.

I couldn’t find an open ramp… followed gps to three different spots and all were locked.. Luckily I left holiday inn at 4:00 a m for just that reason, wanted to be unloaded and ready to paddle off at 6:30. I finally found an open ramp around 6:15 and two other guys and myself decided to relax and just have fun.. I slid kayak into water and took one small step and was in 4 feet of water up to my chest. Had waders on and would have filled up in 6 more inches of depth.
