I think there is a lot of non C O E rock barriers there because of the private not private water issue.
I need a drone , would save me some effort down there

Could be a soar fisherman or it could be a land owner. You'd be surprised at the number of areas along the Ouachita River over in northeast Louisiana where land owners have done this sort of thing. They own the property around it so they think it gives them the right to block people from it even though it is public water. I'd bet it was the landowner trying to block access to an oxbow.....

I like how some guys on social media were telling him to suck it up and go fishing. They said he was whining. He goes out and wins and of course they go silent.....

My first thought that it was club fisherman that was going to be there Sunday morning and wanted the spot

This place he's going reminds me of two lakes I fished at home on the Ouachita River; Anderson ans King's Lake. Both had similar access and were blocked by the land owners. Anderson lake was blocked by an earthen dam the land owner put in so it was completely cut off from access. King's was blocked with concrete blocks that sealed it off back in the 60's but when the lock and dam navigational system was put in place it got the water just deep enough you could troll over those blocks without hitting them. King's was really wierd deal. It was a widowed elderly lady that owned the property around that lake and she didn't mind you fishing it as long as you accessed it from her boat ramp and you had to fish in a jon boat, she wouldn't allow anything bigger. They said if people come up through that cut she eventually blocked, she'd shoot at you with a shotgun. She was something. I was just a kid and I did get to meet her. She'd always give away fish and she gave my dad a big mess of catfish she'd caught one day whle we were there fishing. She was actually a very kind lady.

Over the years I have seen a lot of this type stuff in backwaters. Mostly tree's fell to block a ditch or cut to a backwater. If some one is willing to work hard to get in some where then good for them.
PS I was pulling for G H , just think he's a great guy. No disrespect to KP

Just like I figured....oxbow off the main channel. I've fished a LOT of em, even ramrodded a 6k acre hunting lease on the red and have been a lessee on several others, all of which had multiple oxbow's on them. My bet is the landowner ( or lessee's) as they'd (most probably) have rip rap on site, even I have some. To think a fisherman would go to the trouble to load up a boat with rock, sneak in (probably at night), and dump the rock, seems far less feasible than the landowner loading up rock, on site, into a UTV/truck, etc and dumping it in an attempt to block access. I can tell you from experience, a lot of the landowners/lessee's on the red seem to consider an oxbow with direct access/"flow" to the main river channel as "theirs".....even though it isn't. Same for lands contained within the river channel..... Good on Poche'.....knows the law and is willing to bust his @ss to try and win....
