The other OT guys were telling me about this guy who posts here who is named "Math Geek".

They said he is super cool and everyone likes his Youtube vids and he is super good at math and stuff.

We should ask him.

Per the OP's question, how much did the store lose? The thief did not walk out the store with $100, he walked out with $30 cash and $70 worth of good. How he pulled off that heist does not matter, but that is what he stole.

“How much money did the store lose” - $30
(also lost the value of the goods but the question was money)

$30. The question was how much money did the store lose. Not how much merchandise.

What if this person identified as a man allegedly purchased $70 worth of gift cards?

So theft is profit or neutral, not loss?

30.00 cash + 70.00 goods = 100.00

Allison is saying they didn’t lose the money, they know exactly where it went.

Nope, only lost $30 of “money”.

Wrong. That little Indian guru guy is an idiot. He didn’t read the riddle verbatim. Verbiage is essential to solve a riddle. They didn’t ask how much product was taken…only money. The product is a huge variable. It doesn’t have a set dollar amount. It could be $70 msrp, it could be $20 wholesale, it could have been a sale product that was reduced price and sold at a loss…you don’t know, since the details are not presented. The only known fact is that the question asks specifically how much MONEY was lost.
