Does Trey now get DQd from all the other opens he fished? No, why would he? Argument could be made that if he wasn't insurance compliant at this event them he was/could have not been in compliance at previous events - which would have made him ineligible to fish or guilty of rule violation. I'm sure nothing will become of this due to the can of worms it would open. I also don't think this was by design, it was simply a mistake that he didn't catch. That would be like getting a speeding ticket and the cop writing you another ticket because if you were speeding today, you must have been speeding last week. The difference is that it would be very easy for MLF to confirm what policy coverages were/were not in effect on previous tournament dates IF they desired to do so. Not saything they should do that, but it would be very easy to validate.

Simple as the old saying, “it is what it is”.Let him get the insurance coverage and move on. I’m sure he thought he was doing it right. Heck I’m sure Uncle Gerald is pouring enough money into his venture to not have to worry about an extra $50 a year difference in the premium. Trey will be fine, I think it was a wake up call for BASS to institute a better program of making sure they have the right insurance. It can’t be all that hard, have them send in a copy of their insurance with their payment to that open tournament, problem solved. Finally an educated sensible post.

Mind boggling that in 2022 with everything digital, proof of insurance isnt shown with registration.

Ya, kinda how you do a lot of the high school deals... you could just upload copies insurance etc... to a portal off your phone or laptop.

Why are you bringing MLF into this, these were BASS events.
