Do you always use painted heads?
Not really into finesse fishing, but tried the shakey head, was catching fish on a steady basis then broke on off, instead of tying on a green head I put on an unpainted head. Never got bit for a couple of hours, put back on a green head and began to get bit.
This is a great way to catch MLF’rs (12 inch fish)

I have pretty equal results with both painted and natural lead colored hooks. I do see a significant difference with different colored worms though.
For now, I’m using painted owners, cause that’s what they had at academy. I don’t really have a preference on color, but I only use owners or YeahBabee brand hooks. Yeah Babee comes in all colors…even red shad or blue.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

I prefer green pumpkin. Was a non-boater for a tourney guy that had all kinds of colors made himself and would not always match the color of the worm and watched him clean up with them.

Green or black for me, regardless of the color of worm.
Btw, it's not just a small fish bait. We've had multiple fish over 5 on it and last year I caught a 9.72 on one.

Hey Monty, how do these heads perform in rip-rap or broken concrete if you fish them in these situations? Thanks in advance

Doesn't seem to matter. I use black. My buddy who tears them up on shakey heads uses unpainted. It may matter in extremely clear water but I don't live close to any.

Thanks for the feedback. Caught the dunks up at Ray Roberts. Yesterday I fished near the house, at white rock caught several with it and one approached 2 1/2. Staying with painted heads for now.

Hey Monty, how do these heads perform in rip-rap or broken concrete if you fish them in these situations? Thanks in advance I haven't hung one up yet but I've only really used it where there is some scattered/broken concrete. I'll report back after I fish some nasty rip-rap.

Hey Monty, how do these heads perform in rip-rap or broken concrete if you fish them in these situations? Thanks in advance I like them, but lost 4 of them today to chunk rock and rip rap.

Then you're fishing in the wrong places!!
Goto technique in 16 to 25 feet of water on ledges. 3/8 or 1/2oz head depending on current and wind on 17# fluro. 10" Zoom mangnum finesse worm in black or junebug. BUNCHES of 4 to 6 pounders. Almost never a fish under 3.
