How the heck it go from 14.5 to 10. I've seen scaled 1/2 pound off but 4.5lb off. What did they use an old spring style scale. I know of a few guides in South Texas that seem to have the exact same problem with their scales. The guide that posted the picture and unofficial weight was not guiding the angler. Keith is a hybrid/sandbass guide. I believe the angler was fun fishing from his own boat. The guide is the Admin on a Bridgeport Fishing FB page.

It might have sounded like it, but my comment was not directed towards this thread, just a guide down south that always over claims weights.

Any truth to the rumor on SM that it was caught on a "Halloween" pattern spinnerbait?
Great fish no matter! I was buying 14 just looking at the pic. Funny how angles and what not can get you. I have seen pics of a legit 12.5 on a solid scale and a 9 per the same scale and the 9 looks notably bigger.

Well one of em is out of commission right now and the other one still catching 3s calling em 5s. Gotta create business somehow. BTW, beautiful fish from Bridgeport regardless of weight, it’s a biggun!!
