Surface water temperature 81 degrees, Winds started out at 5-10 mph out of the West / Southwest, water clarity extremely good. Started at daylight on North Shore oyster reef and caught Specs on 1/4 oz jig heads, with 3″ tails. Threw top waters, with no takers, and swim baits, with a few slaps, but they preferred the slower, deep presentation. Caught good numbers of Speckled Sea Trout and Sand Trout, as well as some real line stretchers, including 3 Big Uglies on artificials, that we love to catch to test out our gear. All the fish were concentrated in a tight area, so boat control was crucial to keeping the action going strong. Tried a couple other spots with increased boat activity, and limited success. The days are getting shorter and the water is starting to get right, so hit me up as fall approaches for artificial teaching trips, as well as boat navigation trips on where to run and how to best put yourself in a position to catch fish consistently thru the fall and winter months.

All in all, another great day to enjoy God’s Beauty with a fun group of fishers on Galveston Bay.
