I would be suprised if your 419 died and didn't just go dormant. The 419 non irrigated lawns here are bouncing back pretty well after last weeks rain. I'm a bermuda fan. If I was going to sod my first choice would be Tahoma 31 with Tiftuf being a close second. NTX is dominate 419 and common so you'll have to search to find either. I know one place in Pilot Point that carries Tiftuf. Zoysia the popular ones are Meyer, Palisades, Emerald. There are a few others. I hear more Palisade getting planted than most of the others. 1/2 acre is going to be a lot of sod. Glad I'm not laying it.

You might look at some of the Ntep data on seeded varieties of Bermuda and Zoysia to save a ton of money. Rio bermuda seed would probably be my first choice.

I laid 3 pallets of 419 when I put in my bar ditch. I have watered it a little bit every year until this year and it has done really good. I`m on a well and I used my well water for my lawn only this year. The Tiff went dormant long ago and is really struggling to green back up since finally getting1.3" last week and another 1.2" yesterday. I think it will be just fine, but it will take a little longer to recover after getting zip for 3 months.

Pack do you fertilize the ditch at all or did you lay and walk away?

Here is an example of one of my neighbors. First pic is July 14th and the other today. I haven't looked at it closely enough to see if I think it's a common or 419. I don't know them well enough to go tramping through their yard. It looked just like the July pick or worse last week, maybe 10 days ago. It has not been fertilized or watered once this year. Then we got 6" of rain. What a difference a week makes with a ton of rain. That bermuda had checked out and now it's back. He had to mow yesterday.

I just laid it and watered it. There is some good topsoil under the sod and the grass has done really well with minimal water till this year. I have a partial bag of some Scotts fertilizer left from last year that I am thinking about putting on this a.m. and see how much it greens it up.

I have a new grassy weed that has popped up after all of the new rain. I have it only in 2 small areas and have not had it before. I had had lots of KRB in the past and this does not look like it. Crab, rescue, dove... I don`t know. TIA.

If the St Aug is thicc and healthy it should crowd out the crab, There will always be some that will make it through the St Aug though

Dallis pressure is really bad here. I have neighbors covered in it. Spraying Prodiamine has protected me really well. I'll get about 2-3 mounds a year and dig it up as soon as I see it.

That looks awesome. Never thought lawns would look so green after the heat and drought we’ve gone through.

Every year as soon as the heat wave breaks my color dials in quickly. It’s pretty much on coast mode now and will look good until frost. Growth is still insane which I’m ready for that to slow down.

I`ve had some black slime mold pop up in my back lawn in the past 2 weeks. Most of it is gone now and an eyesore more than anything. What was really cool was a perfect circle of black slime mold in front of my shop in my non-lawn. Wish I would have taken a picture, but I didn`t want to get off of my Hustler ZTR and get the phone. I had heard of the fairy circles with mushrooms, but not with BSM.

Well my want to kill off everything earlier this year may have come true. Looks like the summer heat and water restrictions has killed off everything in my small front yard. St Augustine was crunchy before the rain and the bermuda still has a little green to it.

But since the heavy rainfall the Dallis circles have taken over.

Im going to nuke it all and start over.. Should I try to do it in the fall? or wait till the spring?
