I have been there three times and can't wait to go again.
I've fished pools 8 & 9 and will be fishing pool 7 next year.
Definitely put La Crosse on your bucket list!

We went up for a week in middle of June. That place is amazing you can fish anyway you want for either brown or green fish. Will definitely go back again. The amount of current surprised us it is like fishing below a running dam all the time. Also it is massive in size not like Rayburn but the backwaters go forever. alot different than our rivers here. The wingdams and closing dams will make you second guess yourself when moving around or atleast they bugged me trying to figure out if you can cross it or were to go thru it. We spent most of our time in pool 7 and 8 only had one day in 9 they are all cool for sure.

Forgot to mention they have a neat deal on licenses as long as you stay between the railroad tracks on both sides of the river you can buy one state and be legal in all 3 Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. They also have a family license that lets a couple fish under one. Cost us less for a year license for two than it does for just one of us in Texas. Not a big deal but every little bit helps.

We have a place on pool 10 in Prairie Du Chien. It really is a beautiful area. I was up there for a few days a week ago. Caught plenty of keepers just messing around the lake in front of the trailer.

Don’t let TPWD see those pics! They’ll be loading up and going north to spray grass!

I was on Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay in June. I regret not crossing the state (Wisconsin) to fish it.

I'm going up there in mid-October for a BFL regional. Grand is an hour from my house but the Okie division is with the midwest so I get an 11 hour driver instead. Looks like I'll want to swap most of my setups to braid but it looks like a fun place to fish
