Texoma has Pacu (related to the piranha) with a lake record of 2.29lbs 17 inches.

Someone did actually catch a Pacu from Lavon in the late 80s

Buddy of mine caught a giant Pacu in Marine Creek. Have a retired friend from tpwd said all lakes around north Texas had or have a small piranha population, as well as alligators, pacu and some other non native fish. The aquarium laws back in the day created it. Grapevine at one point had a rather large piranha population believe it or not. This was in the 90-00's. Imagine a lot of stuff has died off at this point. Have also personally seen a gigantic boa constrictor in Marshall Creek. You really never know what has been released into your local lake over the years.

I challenge a youtuber to livescope a piranha, that would get some views!

Pacu are vegetarians. Totally harmless. Never purposely stocked in lakes. Start off as aquarium fish and outgrow the tank so owners dump them in the lakes, ponds, etc. I saw a guy catch a big one at the crappie barge on Lake Lewisville several years ago...was funny watching everyone get so excited that they had just seen a live pirahna.
