katt, home depot and probably lowes sell 2 and 3' wide runner carpet by the lineal foot. a few non skid rugs along with the runner carpet and you should be good.

dog will figure out what is easy or not, that one is no dummy. grin

Carpet runners are probably the best fix, but those Paw Pads are intriguing.

My BIL used this on their dog when they first moved into new house with wood floors. It's moderately tacky and will last a day or two at a time, less if they walk outside. Their dogs got used to the floors and they don't use it anymore.
