Finally raised my Honda to 1.5" from 1.25" HOC today. Looks better and will hopefully help with this terrible heat. Lawn actually looks pretty good considering almost no rain. Been watering pretty hard and still have a few spots that get stressed. Will see how my 4 year old well performs during drought. Spurge is kicking my A$$, but too hot to spray 2, 4- D, so I`m gonna have to live with it. Bermuda is filling in pretty good where I sprayed Glyphosate on all of the KRB back in May. Been pulling up all KRB that has come back by hand. Applied 1/2 LB. AS per 1000 sq. ft. last 2 months and happy with results. I was a little nervous with these 100+ days, but all is well. Mowing every 3-4 days is the ticket. I will be spraying my Fall pre-emergent this year instead of using the granular application. Hopefully I get better results next year. I know it will save me $$$$$ over the granular.

Tpack a product called MSM will smoke spurge, safe for Bermuda and no heat restrictions. You can get it on Amazon for like $25. But you need a good gram scale. It 0.3 grams per 1000. Itโ€™s a very little amount. The amount you would use to spray a whole yard would probably fit on a quarter. Add a non ionic surfactant to it

Thanks Derek. I got it ordered. I`ve been wanting to kill it but didn`t want to hurt the Tif with all the heat. The spurge has been a problem the past few years. Seems like it thrives in dry high heat. Thanks again.

Yeah I get it every year too. Itโ€™s called the July spurge surge. Isoxben is the pre emergent for it but itโ€™s too expensive so I just control it post emergent much cheaper.

Derek I would like to start putting out fungus preventative applications but with the lows still above 80 hesitant to do so. Do you think it is safe to make early morning applications when it is already over 80?

Also does it matter for temp for the Aug sulphur treatment?

Wouldnโ€™t be a bad idea to get some preventative out. Most of the disease pressure is increasing. I did it last week. Iโ€™m doing sulphur tomorrow. Anytime in August is perfect.

My Bermuda in the front is doing ok but my back is St Augustine and it's just about all died, mostly brown/yellow straw looking. Has had plenty of watering. I applied some DiseaseEx last week it but looks lost. Could it be grubs?

Sounds like Chinch bugs. It's time for them and they love St. Aug. If you have some green patches that but up to the brown you can do a water test by cutting the bottom out of a coffee can, stick it in the ground an inch and start filling the can with water, the bugs will float to the top. They are pretty small, do a google image on them so you see that they look like. To check for grubs dig around in same type area in 1x1 sections and see what you get. If you can get some close up pics of the blades where there brown and green meet you can see if there are any identifying lesions on the green that would signify as disease spreading.

Hey Derek, I just did the coffee can test and I have some little bugs with white backs floating up. Looks like cinch bugs. Leaves have no spots. What's my best remedy? Thanks

I have just enough Barricade (Prodiamine) to do my lawn 1 more time and meet my yearly max limit. Hopefully will spray in the spring after getting my sprayer fixed or they send me a new one. banana

I'm typically doing it now. Rain est are 5"+ next week. Think I'm going to wait it out and apply it the following week. Just to play it safe and not have a wash out flood.

Derek I am going out of town later today but will mow today. Tomorrow is a normal water day thinking of applying the sulphur this morning but it would not get watered in (unless it rains) until tomorrow AM. Is that safe to do?
