Justin, it sounds to me like you are doing the right thing for you and your Wife. It looks like there may not be anybody fishing Fairfield pretty soon.

Best of luck!

If you run tournaments in the summer in Texas fish are going to die. In some cases it might be a large percentage of them. If one really cared about fish living they would run these in a manner that the fish are weighed (or measured, whatever) and released right away.

That said, they are just fish and this made me hungry for fish tacos. The fish were legal size and I assume taken legally so that they died is not a big deal to me... leaving them to waste is not cool.

But yeah... RIP Fairfield.

that is the way it is anymore you try to do the work of putting on tournaments an a handfull of folks whining ruin it for everyone . if it wasnt for so many folks cheating for not much money as we have seen lately an some getting caught you could do a catch an release tournament dont see that ever working out.

Yup, meat hunting should commence, take the kids and load the coolers with tasty bass.

If its sold TPWD should let us come fish and take the fish and put them in our local lakes, or they should do this , but I'm sure that will never happen.

A 2 day catch and keep team deal with a 10 fish per team per day limit should be done. Then fry them. Lol

Might I add that all contestants be required to wear one-piece jumpsuits? [Linked Image]
