When I lived in Texas, it seems I got a summons once a year for Denton County. Knock on wood, in the seven years I've lived here I have never received one.
He is truly a sick individual.

I get a summons every 24 months like clock work. It's like they have me on speed dial.

I went for a stretch where I was summoned 4-5 times within about a 3 year period. Finally got picked for a trial about 8 years ago, and have not been summoned since.

Yeh. This sucks. Two hours into it and still sitting here playing in my phone. LOL. I used to get wound up about it; as a cop I’m not going to be selected, so every summons was a waste of a day for me. Now that I’m retired, perhaps I’ll get on a jury again. Once, back in ‘85, I got selected in JP court; the defendant didn’t have an attorney and had no idea I was a cop. But in my county the jury pool for district and county courts fills out cards listing one’s occupation, among other things, for the attorneys to see. It does save time during voir dire, but it shows the defense every juror candidate who is involved in LE, guaranteeing that they will never be selected. I have no problem serving on a jury; I see it as a civic duty and as an honor. But wasting a day, knowing that I have zero chance of selection, is aggravating. Funny story, and true: a friend once received a jury summons for a felony case in which he was the investigating detective.

I’ve got a 10-day, +\- appearance coming in two weeks. I don’t know anything other than it’s a civil case about land development. Sounds UBER EXCITING! not!
That’s all I know.

Funny, they never ask if you're an ex-cop or retired cop. They even ask if anyone in your family is a cop, but they never ask if you're an ex-cop. Makes no sense to me.

I've received a few summons, but only had to show up once...and that only lasted about an hour before everyone was sent home as everyone cut a deal/pled out. I'd go again and try if summoned.
