Yes Diablo closes tuesday morning. The only ramp will be a one lane ramp at Rough Caynon. And trust me the concrete the NPS has poured doesn't help anything. Parking sucks and the walk will be hell.

Has anyone heard about the Permian scheduled for Sept 17-18? There is no way you can hold a large tourny lanching at Rough Canyon. However Hookers will love the customers.

I spoke with one of the PBC guys and they were planning on having it but wasn’t aware of the current situation. Park ranger told them there would be no issue with diablo but they don’t know their arse from a hole in the ground anyway. We are not going and canceling our reservations down there.

Now I’m reading that Diablo goes further into the lake and they will clean the ramp and see how it looks, then re-evaluate.

I was told by an old timer that Diablo goes all the way to the river.. Good chance we will find out.

Just out of curiosity, what shape is Box Canyon in?

Rough Canyon goes all the way to the old river bed we used it before they knocked the hole in Lake Walk dam.
Diablo doesn’t go to the river channel but it does go a long way out there. IF they clean it off it will be fine.. when it was first opened there was a gas dock at Diablo. Big nice thing, Inever knew why they took it out.

Box has been closed for some time now.

Don’t see why they aren’t planning on making Box longer, not like there isn’t a shortage of rocks that they could use to throw into the water for fill.

Permian Bass Club annual SIT State Invitational tournament is still on go. We are as disappointed as anyone in the low lake level at Amistad, Although this puts a hiccup in our usual plans I'm sure each angler will be able to take on the additional challenge. Stay tuned as we work out the logistics on this. Sign up will still be the same at the convention center and weigh-in is still under review. We have our live release trailer so we have some options. We will absolutely do our best to make this work for everyone. Thanks guys, lets make this fun as opposed to being bummed out.

Diablo doesn't go all the way to the creek channel.
Box drops off, there is a 50' cliff so building a longer ramp isn't an option.

Need rain, a lot of it.
