Sold my first bass boat to a family friend back in the mid 90's, my first Bass Cat, and still wish I had that boat to this day.

So my question to the form is.. have you ever regretted selling an solid older boat.

If I did sell I would not be getting a replacement for a while because me and my wife are in the process of house hunting. ( I know we are on point with our timing of this process lol). I'm ok with parting ways with but on the other hand I really do love this boat.

You will regret from now on if you sell that boat. The 206 is the "widebody" Champ. I would keep it from now on. That thing is like gold to many Champion faithfuls.

I would try not to sell a boat like that in your situation, until I was sure I could get another. Course everyone's circumstances are different.

Those fish don't care about what you're catching them out of and you're not fishing on scared money. Keep the boat till your house hunting is over. Your wife won't be mad, and you still can fish.

I would agree. Do you follow tactical bassin on youtube? He wrecked his old Cobra and went on search for a replacement. Instead of buying new decided on a used Champ and that just threw fuel of the fire of the Champion cult following, they are coveted and worth more now than ever.

I have a 206 Elite, don’t sell it, you will regret it.

That boat is a classic and you will have a very hard time ever trying to replace it with anything comparable.

Yes and my wife begged me not to sell the last one. I did it so she could get another degree teaching. I thought in a couple of years I'd be sitting pretty in a new one then dance attacked my budget and I ran from March of 2000 until November of 2021 without one; if you don't count the 14 foot jon boat I had I used a couple of years when the weather would allow it. You young guys with young kids if you've got a boat hang on to it for dear life. You may not see another one in your garage/shop for a couple of decades. Start a side hustle if that is what it takes. Looking back that's what I should have done.

Yep, bought a new 95 Champion 181 absolutelt loved that boat. In 2004, I traded it in for a Ranger 518. Turned out to be a lemon. Kicked myself for three years while I owned it I was embarrassed to sell it but I did a and then celebrated when my Basscat arrived.

LOVE that channel. Those guys have really shown that you don't need a new boat to have the newest and greatest tech.

sold my 82 champion 184 to get my 95 202, loved driving that 184 as it would get an honest 73 on a good day.
like a ferrari on water.

you need to keep that 206 imo, they are becoming scarce on the market and paid for is always a whole lot better than payments.

Bought a 2011 Z119 with 34 hrs. in 2014, beautiful boat. Sold it in 2018 0r 2019 (with 95hrs) for what I paid for it. Been sad ever since.

I think we have all made purchase decisions we regret.....a couple things to consider is that newer model boats generally have better deck layouts, storage, etc. If you are happy with how it handles and fishes, stay with it. As long as it has spot lock TM, Panoptix and a 4 Stroke engine I'll be happy.
