consequences are THE ONLY answer for this type of garbage --- it's changed human behavior for centuries . We have gone soft on punishing kids for decades ---should be no surprise our country is headed downhill like a speed demon . The " sit in your corner" VS the " azz whoppin " generational statistics are clear --- the sit in your corner generation's are worthless , disrespectful , irresponsible , entitled mommy's boys .
Have y'all seen the movie " Unbroken " ? The story of Lou Zamperini . In one part he has to have every prisoner punch him in the face . Seems like these two boys should have all the participants that they stole money from the week before could do the same thing ---100% guarantee they never do it again . And make their watch them get pummeled .

I stole watermelons, ever had a butt load of rock salt? it was frowned upon but tolerated back then.
drag raced on public streets along with maybe 100 others, it got real expensive real quick if ya got caught.
did other stupid stuff and some of it entailed city condo room and board for a week or so.

I never thought of cheating to steal money from anyone, never entered our minds back then, cheaters that got caught got beat bad enough they either weren't seen again or they were just audience. no one tolerated it that I knew.

whole different world when you do stupid teenage stuff vs. commit fraud by deception/theft and the later should have consequences. this was clearly premeditated and organized, that also plays in punishment. jmo

I kinda lean this way. Kids do stupid things. I think community service, fine, return all past tournament winnings, forfeit all Titles won and 5 yr ban and lifetime ban from highschool and college tournaments or something similar would be enough. But to do nothing is unacceptable and does not teach them anything.

kids doing stupid things to me is a whole lot different than purposely entering a tournament with the intent to cheat to steal money, they were competing as adults in an adult event.

play grownup games, win grownup prizes.

I don’t care if their”kids” or not. You know cheating, lying, stealing is bad when you’re young. They know what they did. Now my son and other highschool anglers have to fish with cheaters?! They should be banned not only from those working mans but also thsba.

They ARE premeditated cheaters. They should lose their fishing licenses forever. After they pay restitution.

I agree with the pre meditated part. And do believe their punishment should be losing their license for at least several years. They would be constantly reminded of the cheating that way.

Retirement best job ever.

Good! I’m glad someone is holding the punks accountable. How can you be so desperate ?

It's not up to the courts to ban them from tournaments exactly. Most all tourney rules have a disqualifier for people who have been caught cheating. Basically they will have to explain to every tourney director before entering and it will be up to the directors. I suspect not many tourney directors are gonna want a thing to do with them. In a perfect world they would fail any poly they took for winnings if they dont notify the td in advance because they would be lying about following the rules.

I just read through champs and ttt. Both are very specific, champs states merely being investigated is enough. So without td permission they have eliminated themselves probably from the 3 largest tourney trails in texas going forward, not to mention thsba, and I'm sure BASS has similar language although I havent read it.

So did they warden say no crime had been committed?
Unfortunately I'm thinking until they complete the act and take the cash they have not committed a crime.
Kind of like shop lifting. If they put the package of steak down there pants they are just carrying it around until they have walk out the door of the business they have not stolen anything?
