This is a non story. You could easily buy an 11k used car and have the motor go out and spend have them 11k at a dealer on a new motor. I know electric has growing pains and isn’t going to replace ice motors over night but it’s a good fit for some folks

It is certainly not a “non story” when a 2014 model car cannot be fixed. A conventional car engine can be rebuilt or replaced. In this case, an 8 year old car is scrap because Ford does not even make a replacement battery. Just another reason I look at EVs as somewhat of a novelty for the present with potential for the future. I’ll stick with conventional or hybrid power for now.

You don't have to go to a dealer and spend that kind of money. Might be able to get one out of a wrecked vehicle at a fraction of dealer cost for new....So yes this is a story

At least a replacement engine would be available! They're being told they can't even get a battery at all, regardless of price. And that's BS. An no eco-box replacement engine is going to be $11K. Also, with a ICE car, you can get it worked on at places other than the dealership as well. Try that with a Tesla. They refuse to sell parts to anyone other than Tesla repair places. No thanks.
