I call all these companies my sponsors because they provide me with all the ketchup and sauses for free to go with the food I order after a tough day of fishing. I figure that is the closest I ll ever come to actual sponsorship. roflmao dance2

I prefer shallow, but if the boater wants to go deep that;s ok as long as I have an idea before getting in the boat. So as not to have to add weight first thing in the morning.
When I had my own boats it was shallow for me 95% of the time.

Give me cypress treeQatari cks and dirty water. If I can't touch bottom with the flipping stick something is wrong.

Deep school's of fish! Better than going down the bank picking off 1 or 2. Just the way I like to fish.

I consider myself a structure fisheman.. no matter what the depth.. I much prefer fishing the bottom than fishing the bank. But.. I do way more fishing than catching.

Shallow

I haven’t gotten competent enough to be confident fishing deep. Don’t really understand the concept exactly. Only way I’ve caught them deep is by using a marker buoy on structure I’ve found deep! Without a physical guide to cast toward, I feel like I’m just throwing into nothing

Outside of the spawn, I'd say I pretty much exclusively fish offshore these days. Bigger, more numerous, and less pressured fish.

I feel like I do both. But find myself gravitating to shallow water quickly. I have learned many times I was not fishing shallow enough.

I don't have a problem fishing deeper, off-shore structure but I have a strong tendency to eliminate shallow water as an option before I go deep.

I prefer Offshore, and probably is my biggest detriment.

Last club tourney I caught some small shallow fish early. Then caught a single 2.5 lb fish in about 15' and made up my mind the better fish were deeper.

Midday I jumped off a 5+ in less than 2' and then convinced myself that was a fluke and went back deeper.

All the top sacks came from 1-3' of water.

I'm a shallow water fisherman that lives on a deep water lake... I'm trying to learn deep water but I always hear shallow water calling me... Dan
