Alot of drivers, especially otr do not touch freight. They pull up, open the back and watch you. Lift gate service is extra and then it gets deposited in parking lot. With what otr guys get paid I dont see how companies like bek and sysco hire anyone at all. Those guys will move 2000 to 3000 cases a run on a damn dolly. Very physical work.

But Brandon said they could learn to write code roflmao

AI works really well in a controlled setting. Introduce a few variables and all the sudden there are big problems.

Those self driving trucks looked pretty good on the track weaving through the cones. In fact, I'll allow they made it through that track better than I could have. Now how are they going to react on a street when instead of cones it is people? And what are they going to do when one or two of those people move?

How will the AI respond to a pothole in the middle of the road? How will it respond when a buzzard flies up right in front of the camera, or a pig or deer? What will happen when the driverless vehicle gets a flat tire? Or a radiator hose busts, or any one of the thousands of other things happens that can disable a truck?

Personally I am a big fan of AI. But you have to acknowledge the capabilities and limitations of artificial intelligence before you give it free reign. Just ask people on this very forum how well robot vacuums work in houses with dogs.
