I have a neighbor across the street who insists on having heavy machinery from tree cutting and other work done in her own yard park in mine. I own the vacant lot beside our house and have come home to find log trucks, other huge vehicles, and most recently a full size tractor parked in my yard. They have dug ruts deep enough that I can't cut my grass on my riding mower. She is obviously doing it because she doesn't want them to tear up her own yard.

I spoke to her about it the first 3-4 times. I found the workers and made them move their vehicles. One got smart with me and we ended up in a tense verbal confrontation. The last time I was in disbelief that it happened again. I called the sheriff. I apparently can't get through to her any other way.

She showed up and started arguing with the deputy who had told the workers they were trespassing. She was yelling something about the effing right of way. He told her right of way has nothing to do with it, they were clearly up in my yard and trespassing. They even ran over my "private property - no trespassing" sign to get there.

She's insane. She has a yard of her own and "right of way" on her side of the street.

I have shorted out on my neighbors enough over time about parking in front of my house they now will park several homes down. They have even told their friends when they come to visit to park down the street please don't park in front of THAT house. LOL.

It becomes a battle of wills for some people. I like to get along with my neighbors, but when I'm right and someone insists on keeping on my will can be as strong as anyone's.

Lived in one like that for a while. Kids darting out behind cars constantly.

As long as it does not become a regular thing, I am fine with it. After all, the street is a public property as long as it is not a posted “no parking “ zone. Sure doesn’t rate throwing a hissy fit with the person parking there.

You guys can fight all you want about people parking in front of your house. The one time I lived in a 55+ community, the guy across the street came over and asked me not to park in front of my house because he had backed into the previous owner's car trying to get out of his driveway. He told me he needed the extra room to swing wide when he drove in and to give him leeway when he backed out.

I just smiled and continued parking there when I needed to which was only a couple of times a month. When he came in, they guy would literally run up on the sidewalk on my side of the street in order to turn into his driveway. Total idiot.

I wouldn’t mind for a short time, but everyday would ultimately make me ask why, especially if there is room in their own driveway

It's inconsiderate as is parking across from my driveway. I keep my front door open and don't want to look at your damn car from my recliner! In a previous house I had a neighbor's kids' friend with a convertible do that until I reset the sprinklers...problem solved!
