Going there next month to spend a few days with the family, it doesn't seem like there is much information on it besides it is clear and deep. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I saw somewhere it has grass.. not wanting spots just areas if anyone has fished it before for bass Thanks

First I've heard of Canyon Lake having grass. You may be confusing it with Choke Canyon which does have a bunch of grass. What Canyon has plenty of is wake boats and jet skis.

It was a report on Texas Parks and Wildlife. Canyon lake is the one we are going to. Sounds like it will be fun fighting all the play boats

You will find grass up the river and a few other places. Just stay in the channel running the river.

Canyon Lake in Comal does have some hydrilla now. Quite a bit up towards the river area. It also has a ton of Zebra mussels so the water has been pretty clear.
I haven't tried the grass lately or fished there much, but I have caught most using finesse techniques with soft plastic. You can also chase stripers (usually small) in the morning or evening. IT will be busy with lots of jet skis, wake boats, sailboats, and general idiots so stay safe and bring your patience at the ramp!!! You can catch a small mouth in the upper third of the lake on the ledges if you are lucky. Oh, and bladed jigs have been good also.
