Me, my dad, and my friend Logan wanted to try to find some hybrids, so we went to one of our favorite spots at Lake Ray Hubbard. We fished from about 3:30-7:30 and it was super hot and barely any wind until about 6:30 when a front came through and the wind picked up to about 15+. We went to some of our old faithful hybrid humps in 20-25 FOW and they were loaded with white bass, so we caught them pretty consistently in two different spots on slabs, MAL, and Mepps #4. I did manage to catch one good hybrid that weighed 5 lbs and my dad thought he had the lake record but it turned out to be a 15 lb buffalo that he foul hooked in the tail. At one point I jumped in to cool off and the white bass started schooling on the surface, so my dad handed me my rod and I caught one while treading water … I'm kinda glad that one wasn't a hybrid! The final count was 109 including 1 hybrid and 1 buffalo. It was a great trip!

Thanks for the report. I caught my first hubbard hybrid yesterday pitching a perch into a huge school of white bass, hooked up in two minutes. Good to know there are still some hybrids in there.
