Booze seems to be holding steady so there is that. Nope. That went up over here. Shiner bock at circle K's is 12.99...used to be 9.99 or 10.99 at the fancier gas stations like shell! LOL If i was in the mood for a buzz on the cheap I used to be able to get 4 shiner tall boys for like just over $7. Now its just under $9. Crawford bocks AND yuenglings gone up 2 bucks for the 6 pack too. Thats at my local/regional grocery store thats known for being cheap (they honestly give walmart competition on some things)....albertsons prices on beer went up about a buck or 2 last i checked there too. I would like to thank Mr. Biden for bringing my drinking in check...i think my posts the last 1-2 months reflect this change

Whiskey prices are holding steady. When I do drink beer I never buy it at convenience stores.

Get the sausage biscuit $2 bundle. $2 gets you a sausage biscuit and a hash brown. Add $1 for a soft drink and it's a nice full breakfast for $3.24 total.

One of the surprising items that has been stable at least for us is shrimp. Very little movement on that one. All that is at wholesale market. Maybe because local shrimp comes from the Trinity River? Eat the imported shrimp. It comes from the Mekong Delta and you won't need a flashlight at night.

More sticker shock today for my cheap a**. I have been buying those little pies and cakes at Walmart for the past few years; you know, the single serving ones in the bakery department. I usually get the apple or the peach and heat one up in the microwave to have with a cup of coffee when I sit down to watch tv. In addition to the little pies, the cinnamon and Louisiana Crunch cakes are really good too. Today I go into pick up 4 of the Louisiana Crunch cakes and they have gone from 50 cents to 74 cents. Spoke to the manager of the bakery and she said they had to make them up a week ago. Now, it looks like only a 24 cent increase which, even for a cheapskate like me isn't much, but when you do the math, it is actually a 48% hike.
I told the wife I need to take a run into the ghetto part of town to see if the bakery outlet has any deals left or if they are stocked with $10 loaves of bread.

48% is 48% whether you're starting at 50 cents or $50. Bacon has gone up 60% and the coffee you drink with those little cakes is up 20% or more. Patty sausage has gone up 60% as well. With gas up 260% most of us are facing inflation of probably 40% to 50% on the consumables we most commonly buy...maybe more. My fuel bill has gone up $400 to $500 per month. Food is hundreds more, too.
How much has everyone's pay gone up? Unless you just signed a huge new free agent deal with the Dolphins, probably not nearly enough to offset inflation. The alleged party of the little guy is strangling him.

No way I would pass a braums for a McDonald's. Agreed. I can't remember the last time I set foot in a McD's but it has been a lot of years.
