Estimates vary as to how many of the rifles are owned in the United States. The National Shooting Sports Foundation has estimated that approximately 5 million to 10 million AR-15 style rifles exist in the U.S. within the broader total of the 300 million firearms owned by Americans. How many soldiers currently in the U.S. military? Numbers of U.S. military service members vary by state, driven mostly by workforce levels at large bases. There were a total of 1.3 million active duty military and more than 800,000 reserve forces as of September 2017, according to Defense Department personnel data. https://www.governing.com › archive › military-civilia... the math is on our side, how many of the military do you think would fire on americans? I doubt many at all if any would. I use to think the same our military won't fired on american citizens. I no longer believe this with our woke leadership in the military and woke soldiers. I sure hope I am wrong. Service members take an oath to defend the Constitution. I think a good portion of Officers and men would hold to that oath. I have friends and family in the military and you are right about a portion would absolutely not fire on americans, but I do believe there would be a portion that would. 20 years ago I would have said none would fire on american citizens

Just a question, I know a lot of us go by the saying "from my cold dead hands" but really, keyboard warriors aside, what will it look like when they finally get AR's banned? Does “AR” stand for Assault Rifle? NO it stands for Armalite Rifle the original designer of this type weapon. The AR 15 is the civilian version of the military . The AR 15 is nothing more than a semi auto rifle nothing more it's not a military rifle. The LR22 10/22 can get a 100 round magazine and in a school of fifth graders do just as much damage. The mini 14 is the exact same rifle with different looks. The mini 14 is semi auto rifle with a 30 round magazine also. There are lots of weapons to kill people if a person just want to kill people mini 14 and 30 are rugers version of the m1 garand carbine, they just use better ammo than the .30 the garand uses.

I guess my point is both the mini 14 and AR15 use same ammo 5.56/223 and both are semi auto rifles and have the capability of 30 round magazines.

If our constitution still means anything the only thing they can do to infringe on our rights is to ammend our constitution. Until then it’s just fear mongering on both sides.

If it gets to that point, civil war will have already began and just like in the past there will be many supporting our side from the Military. Whether or not, our side meaning Constitutionalists win would be known in the end. I for one would like our chances.

IMO it’s all just a big distraction, lookie over there and quit thinking about what the economy is like right now, and how much worse it’s going to get. The economy isn't "bad" for people that have some wealth. This is a great opportunity for those that know to accumulate wealth. These shady dems got so many things going on that are twisted and perverse that the distractors are hiding. That’s going to make the millions of young working famiies feel so much better.

I would be concerned if I had not lost all my guns in the boating accident as I was ferrying them across the deep part of the lake. I still have my Red Ryder though and I will take $500 on a buy back

It's the time for the people to learn when it's time to make money. It's not that hard of a concept. We all struggled when we were young, people are actually resilient. It's just some of our society thinks all the "younger people" need to be coddled and spoon fed. Like all the idiotic politicians before Brandon, we will survive and flourish.

It seems to me that the low hanging fruit in the gun control scheme is ammunition availability. The government is more capable of manipulating ammunition availability and supply than it would be at gun confiscation. Over time, the results would be similar. Without ammo, a gun makes for a poor club.
