 HB apex 16 overheating

Hello all, I’ve got an apex 16 that was installed on my boat within the last 2 weeks, the back of it get very hot and I guess ends up ever heating because it shuts off until I let it cool for 20 min, in plug and plug back it.. if I don’t let it cool off enough it just will flash the hummingbird and go off, I’ve searched this page and tried turning down the screen brightness and also checked the wire size which is 10 gauge. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Not normal. The solix gen3 and apex units have fans for cooling. I'd be taking it back to where it was installed if convenient or call HB

I’m gonna call hummingbird tomorrow, I’m sure it’s gonna have to be sent in and no telling how long that will take

Turn around times are quick, usually less than 10 days you'll have it back
