It's like fishing in the back of Brian Clark's boat, before there was FFS.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

But then that kills the profit $$ for the organizer unless entry fee goes way up. popcorn

Maybe the boaters should get together and go to the organizers and ask for part of those profits for allowing the co's to fish out of their boats.

The boater gets nothing, besides a few dollars for gas, for basically providing a "guide trip".

Yup. A lot of coanglers have boats but are to cheap to use their own when they know it’s a free trip basically.

As a co I would just bring my dewalt battery powered live scope in box kit and a pole.

If the boater backseats you with livescope, he most likely backseated his coanglers without it.
He’s just another crappy boater, who should not fish draw tournaments.

Dumb question I know but with the size of the front ends of the boats now days why not have two anglers in the front of the boat fishing?

Could the boater require the co-angler to sit in the front and operate the trolling motor in reverse at the boater’s directions? confused 3

Well when the coangler pays for half the truck and boat that’ll be a good idea.

I'm in the same camp as this. If it were me in the back, I would pick up a wacky rig senko and throw toward the front but not impacting the boater. You'll catch something.

But here's the kicker....I WOULD ASK FIRST. That boater in me would have no problem with it. Hell, I'd invite you up to the front to share in the fun.

This, way before live scope and side scan technology I got to spend time watching fish work about a 1 acre cove in some really clear water on the Ouachita River at home at my uncles place. Most bass that came through were doing the wolf pack thing and they were in groups of 6 to 10 fish or so. Those fish followed the terrain as well and if a person is sitting in the back of the boat and sitting parallel to a point or parallel to a row of trees lining the shore, those fish that are wolfpacking may very well have to swim past the co-angler to get to the boater.

Of course my main concern when buying my boat, paying my boat insurance, filling up with $4 gas in the boat, and filling up truck with near $5 diesel is that my co angler has equal time choosing where, what, and how he wants to fish. How dare the boater fish the way he wants to!

I don’t think you’re addressing the problem.
