Doesn't sound like anything overly concerning. You could use the hose end ready to spray Sevin.

My guess is the spiders are far less of a pest than whatever they are eating.

Derek I plan to put out sulphur and DiseaseEX early April then fertilize mid-April for my front St Augustine. It is starting to come up fairly good certainly better than last year. I have some leftover fertilizer some Scotts Max (I think that might be too much nitrogen?) and some 13-13-13. Should I go with either or buy something different like Scotts Turf Builder or something else?
BTW for the back I had the trees trimmed up, had sprinklers re-zoned to better take care of the back, and next weeks getting the back re-sodded with Zoysia which was the landscaper recommendation. We will see how that goes but other Zoysia yards on our street are pretty strong.

Hi Derek, Sawhorse here. Can we talk prills?
Yellow prills of the LESCO pre-emergent I spread a few weeks ago can still be seen resting atop my soil. It has rained a few times since I spread itโฆin fact weโve received more than an inch of rain.
Do you think I possibly got a bag of inferior, Chinese knock-off pre-emergent? Please help solve all my prill problems.
Thank you, Sawhorse

We will see how that goes but other Zoysia yards on our street are pretty strong. Use what you have before you have to buy anymore, specially with these prices. I would use up the Scotts first then switch to the triple 13. The Scotts Max is low in Potassium but the nitrogen is good for spring green up and growth. If thatโs used up by summer the triple 13 will give you the higher potassium for the heat and disease stress. I would roll my own formula and not use bag rates. I would go no more than 1/2lb of actual N per month. If youโre needing to push growth and fill in you can go 1/2lb, if youโre established I would target about 1/3. So you app amounts would look like this. Iโm on low cut Bermuda and target 1/2lb of N per month and St Aug doesnโt need as much. This is about 1/2 the label recommendation on the Scotts bag. Scotts is wanting/hoping you get about a 7-8 week response at label rate. Itโs a gamble. But I do know if you apply less but more often you will get a 4 week response and be steady throughout the year. Scotts Green Max 27-0-2 โ Per 1000 1/3lb per month 1.1lbs 1/2lb per month 1.9lbs 13-13-13 โ Per 1000 1/3lb per month 2.3lbs 1/2lb per month 3.8lbs

Thank you, Sawhorse Probably a filler used to make the product. The chemical on the products has probably been dissolved and into the soil so you should be fine. I know a granulator that I will ask.

My weeds are green, but the other weed, burmuda, isn't doing anything yet. Bout to fertilize, any suggestions? been using bayer, but open to suggestions There are a few issues with the Bayer 3 in 1. The weeds it kill are broadleaf weeds. Which is a lot of what you are seeing now, but it would be much cheaper to get a hose end Spectricide and kill broads. The pre emergent in it is known not to be a very good pre emergent for warm season grasses. And poa annua has already built a resistant to it. The grassy summer weeds it does prevent it's too late to put it out now. Soil temps have been above 55 for multiple days. Even higher in your area. Crab and other grassy weeds have germinated. So basically you're paying $45 for a 25lb bag of nitrogen. You would be much better off applying an independant pre emergent like Prodiamine or Dithiopyr(Dimension) with it being late March your best bet is to put down Dimension now as it does have some post emergence control of very young crab grass. Then it's up to you on what fert you want to use. Scotts Turf Builder, APF k8, Lesco 15-5-10. You might check your local farm/feed store. A lot of them will have decent deals on a private label fert Or check if you have a local Co-op. A lot of them have private label ferts at good deals.

I appreciate it! Confirmed it was a filler stained. Something like limestone and others are non soluble. You're good to go and nothing to worry about.

Finally got .6" of rain on my lawn. Lawn was starting to finally show a little green and this should help more than a sprinkler system. Spot spray broadleaf weeds last week and applying my first round of fertilizer today or tomorrow. Lower winds the next few days, so I should be able to water it in thoroughly. Very little Poa so far. I guess the Prodiamine was applied early enough last fall. I had some pop up where I weed-eated last fall after applying my Prodiamine, but I hit it with some roundup.
