Having trouble keeping a lowrance side imaging transducer mounted on my triton explorer . It is tucked under the transom recess and above the bottom of the hull. The problem is if a get hung up or go over an underwater stump when I clear it the stump breaks off the transducer bracket attached to the boat. I could mount it on the transom itself but it looks like i would get interference from the motor on one side. Any suggestions would be helpful. On my third mounting bracket.

If you have a flat surface for the transom step, get the Transducer Shield and Saver mount and attach it to the underside of the step.
This is a Humminbird HDSI transducer done that way.

Wayne P - stump field is similar to where I have had problems. Does the saver/bracket attach to the horizontal step or the vertical face. Ill have to check to see if I have enough room for the install and still keep the transducer above the keel. Thaks for the info

I attached it to the (horizontal) underside of the step. I drilled and tapped the hull for 10-24 machine screws.
