But I think it is stupid to zero out the weights in a fishing tournament before the final day. That would be like zeroing out the score of a football or base ball game at half time. So what was the point of the first half if you zero the playing field and start over?

Other sports mention are completed in a few hrs. This is over days, you don't want one guy with such a lead that no one could catch him. You can bet it's about money too. On the other hand the Masters woukd not be much fun if everyone started even par on Sunday, or would it? Lol

Consider the first part of the tournament the playoffs and the last day the tournament the Championship game. Championship game, everybody starts at zero just like any other sport's championship,

they zero it out so everyone gets a chance to get a prize ribbon.

I wish baseball World Series, hockey Stanley cup, basketball championship and other series structured sports wouldn’t start over each game and just see what the score is at the end of a 5 or 7 game series. What a bunch of ribbon chasers. None of them are as good as bass that for sure, the gold standard in all of sports in format and coverage.

It’s dumb, and I like to watch it but dang it’s all too drawn out.

It's one of those deals with me where I could take it or leave it. You reset the field if you change lakes or areas of lakes to fish for the most part if I understand how this work CORRECTLY. So far what I'm seeing is every fisherman seems to peak at different times and different situations and for some of these fishermen it's common knowledge in what situations they l will rise to the top. To me that is almost choosing who will win when you're in the final portion with a zero score and you have someone about to fish into a situation that is there strong suit, but on the other hand, they survived a very rigorous field cut to get there. That is why I say I could take it or leave it.

I, for one, am just so glad that yet another MLF hater thread has been started. What else would you old curmudgeons have to bitch about....oh yeah.....HS fishing tournies, College tournies, growing the sport, ramp etiquette, people crowding you, etc., etc., etc. If a single one of you possessed 10% of the talent that it took for those guys to be fishing today for $300,000 and had that opportunity, you would do it. If you say you wouldn't, you are a liar.

Nothing going on today, so I’ve watched about 45 mins of this. Where is the “more exciting” that people talk about, it’s just like BASS, watch a guy fish and then they skip to the next person that’s about to catch one.


On a different note, these guys are complaining about it being windy? That wind is a calm day on most west/south/central lakes in Texas. Does the wind not typically blow in Oklahoma?

Also, what series did Dustin Connell fish before this, FLW or BASS?
