This is a little off topic but I was wondering do you use the Z man baits for your Ned rig fishing or other types of soft plastics?

I dont care for the zman stuff. Sure you can catch a 100 fish on each bait but having to untangle your lure from around the hook every fish is bogus. Sometimes I can't even get it untangled. It catches the hook keeper prongs and the hook point after twisting around 7 times then overlapping itself. Waaay to much trouble. I shoot my own baits and have a mold that has 8 cavities so I am never in need of neds.

They have a lighter hook. Good action rod and properly set drag. Wear the fish down taking your time.

Thank you for the ideas. I will utilize the drag more, keep constant pressure and give it time to wear out. I am also putting together a spinning setup and looking at other jig head options. I am amazed at how well a Ned rig has worked in the short time my daughter and I have been using it.

I was sick after losing such a nice bass at the very end.

So you know how Senko's tare in the middle? use the back side of the old Senko for your Ned rigs works like a champ and you save your self some $$$.

Do something different, you will be surprised what happens.

Have I lost fish, yes for sure but I’ve landed some good ones on the Ned.

We were talking about that at work today. One guy made the comment how a Senko was a one fish bait, and I said, well now it is a two fish bait if you put the broken half on a ned rig. He laughed and said he never thought of doing that. Good idea he said.
