Went to the coast for a brief fishing trip last week. Had one lunch at the Red Snapper Inn in Surfside (annual tradition). We always get the fish poboys made with red snapper - very tasty and a great value at $10. Their fried crab claw appetizer is a little pricey but well worth it. Then on the way home tried the Runway Cafe at the Angleton airport. Very good blackened snapper with grilled shrimp, veggies and rice; also a good value at about $14.

Red snapper inn is ALWAYS a good place to eat when at surfside. River inn in freeport use to be good too.
