How well does it hold up for you? Any issues with knot slippage? Memory? Do you like it for skipping and pitching, if not what do you use? Do you change your line often or after a tournament?
The reason I ask is, I'm thinking about switching out a couple of reels (baitcasters) that have braid on them. I am having the same internal debate and interested in the comments. I have been using Big Game on all my reels but am plagued with line memory and the easy backlashing that comes with it. I have two empty reels right now that I am trying to decide what line to put back on them. Big Game seems stiff and coils easily. Knots have not been a problem. I have been using baitcast reels for a long time and use good ones. Recently, I have been trying to pitch under docks but frequently get a backlash. I have adjusted the spool tension and backlash control every which way. Braid to leader seems to be a pain. I need to be able to pitch under docks since that is the major structure on my home lake. 20 pound PLine CX Premium and a Daiwa Tatula SV TW will solve all the problems you are having. The Tatula SV TW 2020 model is the best reel that i have used for skipping docks. You can set it up to make a long cast and never thumb the spool . I teach people how to throw a bait caster that have never thrown one or have trouble back lashing other reels. It is easier to set up than the DC reels (the computer chip ones) I have both the 2020 and the 2021 models of the Tatula SV TW. I also have been fishing for over 50 years now and I am a tackle nut so I have used a ton of different rods, reels, and line over the years. I have over 100 rod and reel set ups I like technique specific equipment If you get out to Fork some weekend I can show you just how well the reels work. Best anti-backlash reel out there. After you see how well it works, you will want one.

I've used Big Game since it came out. if I could only have 1 line 15# BG would be my choice. I have caught 40# redfish, 10# bass, 20# stripers, 62 # flathead and more fish than all other lines combined on it. It serves a lot of purposes for me today.

Used BG for I know 20 years but switched last year to Trilene XT as BG had a little too much stretch.

ezbassin, that would be great if I ever got to Fork. I would definitely take you up on your offer.

If you want to see how that reel truly is I could bring home both models. I live in Mansfield. You could see exactly why I like these reels so much.

I used Big Game for years for both freshwater and inshore bay fishing, had a few large spools that had a lot of line twist, that caused backlashes and too many re-spools. I gave Berkley XL and XT a try and liked the results, i still have BG as my main line for the Carolina rig but I use 14# XT for all bottom crawling / flipping baits and 20 # XL for all moving reaction baits. Both cast well, and low stretch XL works great on quick hook sets and the extra stretch XL helps from pulling baits from the fish. Keeping it simple I use Berkley fluorocarbon for wacky worms.
