Really like the look of the seadeck in the cockpit area...

Carpet or not has me banging my head against the wall. I see boats I am interested in that have it all, trolling motor I want, electronics, power pole, price is good, but they have carpet. I have never owned a bass boat and have never been on carpet to know reasons for or against it. Maybe I would love the carpet...not sure which direction to go here. Other than what others have said I have no personal experience against carpet.

"Intracoastal" bass boats have been made by just about every boat manufacturer in the past. I know that Ranger still does. Bullet has their 22SF but it's a center console. Falcon has their F20 Hybrid. There may be others out there.

I’m not aware of a spray on product. However, there are a few commercially available roll on options. They are lighter, not as abrasive, and not as brittle as bedliner.

Tuffcoat
Durabak
Awlgrip.

Of the three, the most popular is Tuffcoat (seen it at Cabella’s)

I suppose you could make your own (Polyester topcoat/flowcoat + flattening agent (talc) + pigment + catalyst). Then roll it on with a stippled/textured roller.

As with any roll on coating; the prep is the most important part

Carpet for Bass Boat. Hides a lot of dirt. Just replace after a number of years.

Seadeck or similar for bay boat. Just straight fiberglass for bay boat with Seadeck on the front deck is good. It gives nice padding while standing. The best surface for a bay boat is the simple gray fiberglass with black paint speckled. Cleans up easy and bay boats need cleaning every trip in salt water.

If I take my Majek 22 Extreme in fresh water it’s pretty hard to keep it clean even when fishing alone. Carpet hides a lot of dirt. Straight Fiberglass shows every bit of dirt but is pretty easy to clean. After two years still looks like new. Takes me about 2 hours to detail level clean it after a saltwater trip.

I have rode in a couple of the XPress that pros are running with Seadeck. It’s definitely nice when standing to have that padding . Looks ok since it’s machine cut.
