Walked to Wolf Pond from Newman's!? Wouldn't it be a shorter easier walk from Birch Creek Unit? I've thought about doing that before.

Hims was dedicated! Lol. He said he was walking in to fish the mouth of the creek. Craziest thing I’ve seen out there .. lol

I'm pretty crazy when it comes to fishing, but not quite on that level. roflmao

Gave up on the whites and switched to a long jig pole. Put 6 fat slabs in the box along with that hybrid. Was hoping for a better bite ahead of this front. Not great fishing weather forecasted for the rest of the week. Water temp was 62, ambient Air temperature was in the low '80s part of the day, partly cloudy with a decent wind from the South Southwest before changed.

@Boudreaux Great Report, thx 4 sharing thumb And great job on landing that 19" Hybrid, the fish gods were with on that 1, for sure wink woot thumb

If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

In a world of compromise.....Some don't.

Lake Level is 239.34. COE is still only releasing 96 CFS clap

The winds are expected to switch back out of the south Monday night and overnight temperatures will remain above 40 degrees for at least the rest of the week. My guess is we'll see lots of spawning activity by Friday of next week.

The spawning activity was going on last Tuesday. Saw spawning in Newman's Bottom all the way up to the WMA.

Anybody fishing this weekend or too cold? I'm thinking about trying on Monday.

I'm going Sunday. I only have the weekends so I gotta pick the best day of the weekend. Don't know if it will be any good but I do know you can't catch em laying on the couch.

Good luck and be careful out there. Banks are likely to be slick. I'll probably try Irwin bridge area on Monday morning. Thinking of trying out the fly rod even though I probably won't catch anything with it. grin

If going to use fly rod, try a duo fly rig. They seem to still be a little deeper when I was fishing this past week and I had good luck with that rig. Hope you catch em!

I'm purely a beginner to fly fishing. I've fished conventional gear my whole life. I've gotten inspired watching J-Moe & Hook,Line & Sinker catch them on the fly. The few times I've tried fly fishing I haven't had a lot of luck.

Let me tell you once again how AMAZING the Yegua creek off of Sommerville is. My brother in law and I went fishing today and we caught 10 by 945am at one of my honey holes at Newman's Bottom but did not catch any more after 10am. I decided since it was slow to go try IRWIN Bridge area. Boy am I glad I did that. We got to one spot where I saw a guy catch a limit last weekend and we were literally catching one after another for about 20 to 30 minutes. Ended up with 37 total. Great day on the Yegua AGAIN!!!
