Ivie has always been a Great Lake even when it was low.

Personally I’ve caught bigger bags when it was below 20% capacity than I have the last few years.

This is exactly what happened: When there is limited spawning areas, the species will use the same areas and hybridization occurs. We had mean mouth up north in deep quarries with limited shallows.

Why doesn't this happen in the summer? I believe I read these fish are suspending over
trees when it's really cold. But no one's figured out where they go in the summer ?

Ivie has always been one of the top producers. Ken A nailed it, but also add the location and electronics.

1 more thing, being far from a metro area is icing on the cake.

This is not rocket science....well known what causes lakes to revitalize....managers on private trophy lakes fertilize yearly....mother nature just handled that part this time. I pray Fork stays 7-9' low for a year....plant growth would be awesome and it would certainly benefit the fishery without question.

Those bass were/are there all along. The same with all the other lakes where SAL's and other double digits are being caught right now and last year.

It all has to do with the "new electronics" and the anglers understanding how to use them.

And it sure isn't over yet.

Those fish weren't there 5 years ago. It's more about timing. Livescope plus the lake peaking. It's not like livescope is being used on every other lake for a bunch of 13+.

I agree Jarrett.

Five yrs ago those 14 pounders weren't 14 pounds. They were 7. All of those fish I've seen from Ivie appear to be very young fish. I would bet every dollar I have that most of them are only 10-11 yrs old.
