Ordered some of your jigs yesterday. Can you tell me a good set up for crappie fishing? Rod, reel and line. Thanks - Steve

there are a million different rod, reel, line, combos you can use for crappie and all of them work. I will tell you what we use and why. when we fish we carry 6 rigged combos each. they are all the same the only difference is line weight. 3 of them have 8lb line for casting 1/16 and 1/8 jigs the other 3 have 4lb line for casting 1/32 jigs. the reason we carry 6 is if we get hung and loose a jig we can put that rod down and pick up another and keep on fishing.
having to buy 12 rod n reel combos[6 for her 6 for me] can get expensive so our equipment is cheap and all can be purchased at walmart. our reels are zebco micro 33's $17.97 each. we use spincast reels because they are simple , wont backlash casting tiny jigs and occasionally we have the grandkids fish with us so they can use them too. rods are 4ft 6in zebco hotcast $5.97 each. plenty sensitive and tough. I have stepped on them on the deck and they dont break. line is mr crappie hi-viz $9.00 a spool. I buy 2500yd bulk spools. 1 spool will fill all reels multiple times. And last but not least JIGLYF jigs tied on to every combo. like I said before you could use the newest fanciest most expensive gear but in the end its just crappie we're fishing for
