Fishspanker has it correct but this thread is further proof of the deterioration of our society. Yep, I agree, men with no backbone any more.

Playing devils advocate here….
Which direction was your boat pointing when he pulled up? He may have wanted to fish the docks too and thought you were going the opposite direction. Some folks can’t read minds. He might have thought how [censored] it was fixing to be fishing your “used water”.
Now me? I’ve come close to to getting my [censored] whooped once. I was fishing a working man’s evening tourney as I have been for years and years. I have “my spots” like most do. I was fishing one of them and a couple of Mexican dudes pulled within flipping distance of me. I told them “thanks” and they followed that with a little [censored] talking. I lost it, as I normally do, and put the trolling motor on 10 and headed straight into their boat. When I rammed their boat I jumped onto their bow and asked him what the f he was saying. Then I realized I was now in his boat with him and his partner. My boat was heading for someone’s dock with my partner staring in disbelief at me! I had to get creative real quick. I told him I thought he was a co worker. Lol. I thought I was about to whooped by two tatted up eses.
I have chilled down a notch or two, but I still think I can whoop anyones [censored]. I tend to express my feelings immediately when I see this kinda stuff. Most of the time, they see it my way…sometimes they like to talk their way down the bank. I have no problem keeping within 10-15 feet from them, casting around them. I get a kick outta it. My fishing partners think I’m nuts.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Unfortunately this is the world we live in and it’s not gonna get any better. Back in the day if that happened to me it’s a good chance that me and him woulda ended up in the same boat together or in the water. Too damn old for that now but some of you young guy’s could make a person think twice before they cut someone off again. My Pop’s always said a good ol fashioned country azz whoopin can go a long way! Wow, and those were the good old days. I am an old and I believe what you just posted on handling a situation is ridicules. If you are that upset, why not just motor in front of him and start fishing the next dock?

I was on a spot that had some fish biting Sat, moved off and came back and boat on it so I stayed about 100yds off and watched, knowing he was going to get hung up where he was casting and I tied on the completely wrong bait and started throwing, to which he of course ( and his partner) tied on right away. They lost those cranks in that pile real quick and after breaking couple off they left so I got to move in. Sunday was in a different place and came up on two guys fishing some brush for crappie no more that a boat length apart, figured they knew each other. Come back thru and a walk thru bayliner with a guy paddling to get his partner unhung was even closer to this guy in, drove back by slowly and figured he was NOT his buddy by the expression on his face. Cutting people off is something that you cant teach people/// its called class.
Watch it happen, make it happen, or say what the hell happened. Capt. Phil Harris F/V Cornelia Marie RIP

If I am on a spot and someone pulls close and says hey this is my favorite place to fish on this lake, do you mind if I fish here also? I would say, sure, because he was polite and he asked if he could fish there also. Now if he drives up and acts like the spot belongs to him, and I am invading his territory, then we have a problem.

These days, you better be packing if you're going to confront someone. And, you better be the first one to draw. Too many POS's out there that don't care.

I am always armed on the water- but I ain’t bringing a gun out cause my mouth got me in trouble. Worst case you go to prison, best case is a big civil suit.

Funny after all these years still have the same keyboard commandos. Talking smack like they’re the biggest baddest dude on the water. There’s always someone bigger and badder and I am not going to fight over a fishing spot and I bet the majority wouldn’t either even if they get their keyboards out and fantasize on how tough they are in cyber space. Just idle around him and keep fishing.

He was actually just a Jack Azz, he turned towards us so we were facing bow to bow and even if he had started fishing in the other direction, he was making us fish used water. Just a plain old Azzhole.

Were you not packing? That gets 'em to move outta the way in a hurry..... I am always armed, even when out mowing the lawn. I have learned to exhibit great self control these day, especially since everything that you do now by your actions can land you in prison in this morally decaying society. It was just a young Dip S@$T that pulled up in his live scope and started throwing his swim bait. That's how close he pulled to us.

These scenarios play out every weekend at Lake Fork. Sometimes during the week. All things considered, those people that do this intentionally, are in need of a kind word or two. They have already jacked your spot, kill'em with kindness and move on.

Went to Holbrook lake on Sunday and was the first boat on the water. About 30 minutes after we arrived a second boat launches and begins to head in our direction, this fine individual pulled about 3 docks in front of us and just flat cut us off. We are the only 2 boats on the lake and this happens. I myself try to give everyone plenty of space and NEVER cut another angler off like that. There is just no etiquette with most of these anglers any more. Am I just being over sensitive ??? He had the whole dang lake and could have picked any other spot to fish on the entire lake. Don’t let it ruin your day. There is a whole lake to fish. Recognize that he is a A hole and move on to somewhere else. World is full of them. Doing this is exactly why he will continue to be a jerk to anyone on the water, and this reasoning is exactly why the world is full of them. He knows with a little lip, some people will just move on and he gets what he wants,........ Are you a man or a mouse??? You were already fishing that spot, he can go fish the rest of the lake. Agree with ezbassin. Boat ramp etiquette applies as well.
Reality. What a concept!
