I currently have a Nitro and my son has a BassCat, both newer models. They both get the job done but they are definitely at two different quality levels. The Nitro is a weekend warrior boat and the BassCat is a serious tournament boat that can withstand being used 3 days a week.

Ranger Owners: The best resale value in the game, awesome boat.

What did I miss? Can we rewind this and do it mid-February again?

Forgot a few:

Phoenix has the best fit, finish, ride, big wave, etc....at least that's what the owners say.

Legend...aint around and was killed off by that evil JM

Vexus....couldn't pay me to ride in an overpriced aluminum john boat

Caymus...you must give your left nut to even sit in it.

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

You forgot the skeeter stress cracking issues.

My Skeeter has some stress cracks, but only on the white gel coat on the top cap. All other colors are crack-free. I think it was either prolonged exposure to sun or something in the mixup of that color that particular day. The white on the hull is perfect.

The wiring and plastics are great. So is the 1/2” plate connecting the transom to the longitudinal parts of the hull. They have the strongest transom in the world.

I almost pulled the trigger on a Nitro. Actually had my deposit down. The only reason I backed out was the local personnel knew nothing about the product they were selling, I mean nothing. I couldn't even get color samples. I read all about the trailer issues, hooked hulls, delamination ( has occurred in all of the major brands )and just overall quality. One sales guy actually referred to it as a "starter boat". I got no warm and fuzzy feeling whatsoever from the sales team. I slept on it one night and canceled my order. I went with a little older used boat that I felt was built better and not mass produced as fast as possible. I'm happy with my decision but to each thier own.

Better tell all those tournament guys to sell their nitros before they spontaneously combust🤣

That would be Allison. Alloy metal. They claim and I believe they have never had a transom failure.
I've seen one in Virginia that ran into an oyster bed at speed. Broke the lower unit off, cracked the mount and put a slice in the bottom. The transom was not hurt. That was in 2005.

The one in my driveway has cashed me half a dozen checks with Bass Champs. My daughter and I had the winning fish on and missed out on a boat at Tawakoni. We took 5th. I guess that was out of a race boat.

I feel Nitros are still cheaper made boats. I am not a fan of the plastic compartments on back deck, much like the early tritons. The top tier boats have solid glass compartments, much better gasketing and such. With all that said, None of that nessesarily means the boat will not last a long time and be a great boat, but I do feel you get much higher quality as well as customer service if you go with a boat such as BassCat or Phoenix.
