I am about to do some siding work with some help and I have a question about what type of 7" circular saw blade I need to cut that LP Smartside stuff. It's like Hardy plank material.

My understanding is the LP Smartside can be cut with a standard wood cutting blade, whereas the Hardie plank requires a diamond tipped blade if your going the be cutting much. I just installed some Hardie siding and trim requiring about 15 cuts and just used a cheap standard blade and it cut fine, though the blade was toast afterwards.

Yeah, as above. Think plywood.

I have cut it with a standard 40 tooth blade with no problem. Only made about 10 or 15 4' cuts, I'm still using that blade but I don't use it that often.
