I’d say that most of y’all with “sniffles” were negative for Covid. You just think you had the virus. As for testing? I don’t get why? You either have it , or don’t. If whatever you think is ailing you gets bad enough, you’ll go to the doc. No sense in wasting time and money getting a swab. Stupid.

STOP with the nonstop testing! Why do people think they need to test every other day? Geez just live your life, if your sick stay home. Never could have imagined that this country was so full of paranoid poontangs. One of my guys just asked me if he could go get tested. I asked if he was feeling bad, he said no... I mentioned if he planned on getting tested everyday, it could be a problem and he said it's just for peace of mind. I don't get it... He's bought into the fear thingy! Sheep-like. Or in other words they have him conditioned. People like him are the reason this nation ran out of 500M test kits in the last 6 weeks. how about pro and college sports. they use them daily for everyone involved. screw us. Where I work is one of the only universities in the nation with its own certified testing lab. I get tested through them, usually, as do all of our athletes. I also have the option of being tested by the state at a couple of onsite testing locations. Everyone is tested 'randomly' every few weeks...I'm tested more regularly because of my particular job. But yeah, it sucks. I bought a couple of at home tests this week because my mom has had close exposures 3 times in the last 3 weeks, the last one on Monday. The insurance companies will start reimbursing people on the 15th for the purchase of at home tests (not if they were purchased before the 15th), so they won't be able to be found anywhere by then....and with testing sites being 1 week out, geez. We have a family friend in the hospital with Covid and he's not doing well...he's vaccinated and boosted, but immunocompromised. Grandkids brought it to him. They too were vaccinated, but had a breakthrough case. Only their father didn't get sick, but he had been boosted about 10 days before.

There are some therapeutics that are helpful, but only in the first couple of days...so for the immunocompromised and those at highest risk of severe illness/death, it makes sense for them to be tested early on.

New variant on the way. reported in france. A French variant will be easily defeated. And this is why we need a "like" button.

I had what I normally would have called a head cold about a week ago. It was fairly bad relative to other colds, but the bad symptoms cleared up after about 36 hours, and I wouldn't describe them as severe. Filled up lots of kleenexes and and went to bed early a couple nights in a row, and have been taking decongestants to clear up my nose.
Virus? I'd say definitely. COVID? Maybe, but only because of how the omicron symptoms are being described. Either way, no reason to think I need to test.
I'm going in for round 2 of the antibody study soon. Zero antibodies in round 1, so if antibodies show up I'll take that as confirmation that I had it.

My son tested positive yesterday. He's 14. My wife took him to the ER today because his oxygen levels dropped. He said his chest felt like it was caving in. Fortunately, his lungs are clear. So tonight we are watching and hoping. If his oxygen level drops to 92, his doctor said to take him to the hospital, which is in Corpus. He's at 96 now. We are picking up therapuetics now as per doc recommendation.

We finally got that “little cold” at my house… both of us are vaxed. Wife’s fever spiked to 104 last night, ER turned us away because her blood ox was 92 and temp had dropped to 102.4. They said to come back if blood ox is consistently under 90 for several hours or if high fever persists for an extended amount of time. Staying on top of Tylenol every 4 hours we’re able to keep her right at 100, blood ox hanging between 89 and 93.
So far other than loosing smell and taste, sinus insanity, someone sitting on my chest, and feeling like I’ve been run over by a truck it’s been manageable for me… but it’s early in the game and I’m damn sure not declaring victory yet.

I haven’t been sick since I was 18, and that was from the flu shot in boot camp. The only shots I’ve had since I got out were the Jesus shot and hundreds, maybe thousands, of liquor shots. I can’t even get a sunburn.

Right. Blood/oxygen saturation levels of mid 90’s and up is considered normal for most. I have had an O2 meter sitting next to our couch and recliner now since April of 2020. I check it when I remember to and it’s never been lower than 97-98. I’m not exactly a cardio/athlete kinda guy either. Like the meme going around “I feel like the kid hiding in the back of the group playing dodgeball, and the front rows of kids have all been hit…like it’s a matter of time now”.

Alternate Advil in there between the Tylenol. Max dose of acetaminophen is 4000mg per 24 hours. Deep breathing exercises for the O2 sats.
