Amazon has Scott's Diseasex on sale for pretty cheap today. Would only let me buy 3 at a time. [Linked Image]

Haven’t seen estimated rain amounts yet. If you don’t have irrigation getting your pre emergent down before next Wednesday and letting nature water it in is probably your best opportunity

I mowed my lawn yesterday down to 1" height (bagged) and then core aerated. Gave it about 2 hours for the plugs to completely dry and ran the mower (Honda HRX 201-cc 21-in Self-Propelled) over them and they completely turned to dust. Them I put out Barricade.48 @ 3.5 lb. per 1000 sq. ft. Was able to run sprinkler system for 2 cycles last night since the wind wasn`t blowing much after dark and water in thoroughly.

I sent in my first soil sample last week to Texas A&M. Curious to finally see how bad my soil is. New construction in 2017.

Fantastic work! Great you took it down to 1", now in about 2-4 weeks depending on temps and when you start to see some bermuda green up do it again. This time take it as low as your mower will go. If you see dirt, that's perfect. Bag and trash everything you collect during this. This will help you keep it low for as long as possible and slowly raise the height of cut as the year goes on to prevent mowing scalp marks and be more uniform.

Be patient with A&M. Unless they have improved, the times I've used them they are typically pretty slow. Like a solid 7-10+ days to get your results after receiving them.

Got mine down last week, thanks for the heads up Derek! I have irrigation but will let nature water it in this week.

Also, I had a moment of inspiration after I dumped the pre-emergent in my rotary spreader. If I decide to start a band, I’m going to name that band “Lesco Prill” or maybe “Stonewall Prill”…one of the two.

Pro: I really like these names and doubt whether either one would be already taken.
Con: I’d probably get beaten down by old dudes cornering me on breaks and wanting to talk lawn care.

JFC. I went to look back at the Sailor looks at 40 last week or so and it was gone. WTF? Thread is there but the YT is not.

Side bar. Sailor looks at 40 is a huge favorite on the THF. Had no idea, just a personal favorite of mine. Was going to show you off and the YT link was dead.

Channel is “Sanger TX” and the song is still there (posted below), and all the others are there too. “Channel” is a bit of a misnomer…I’m not actively trying to get subscribers or views or whatnot, I just use YouTube to house the songs because they take up too much space on my phone.

Maybe “Pirate” vs “Sailor” if searching?…but just go to the channel, it’s there.

Last summer/ early fall I had issues with my Bermuda lawn that we (Derek) discussed on THF (see link below). Thought it could have been Dollar Spot or Bermuda Mites. Never seen the spider webbing in the early a.m. and my best guess was Bermuda Mites. Treated for both for about 2 months, gave up and waited for a hard freeze LOL.

Do you think it will return with the green up and what would be my best plan of attack going into this season?

I know it was late in the season you were having that issue. Did the area get any better or worse prior to going dormant?

I really couldn’t tell much difference. The grass was a little stressed from whatever it was and hitting it with chemicals weekly. It was also late summer and my last fertilizer application was on 7-24. Several things I read said not to fertilize, so I didn’t. Hitting it with one last round of nitrogen may have helped or at least greened it up some more, but I chose to hold off and wait for winter to do its job.

When you get fungus you do typically want to shut off or lower you Nitrogen amounts like you did. Dollar Spot is the exception to the rule. With DS you actually want to increase your N amount. You can push growth and actually grow out the DS.
