There was a news report about a 9 year old girl who drown in a Spill way on Saturday Night.Ladies please take the nececary precautions when you take your little ones fishing, especialy near fast running water.I have a little one myself and I know that sometimes your mine slips when haveing fun and bringing in the big fish, but be as you are realing in your fish take a glance back at your kid to make sure he/she is still there.

My grandparents lived on Lake of the Ozarks and everytime we'd go down to the dock they made us put on a life jacket. We hated it, but it was the rules.
Two years ago when a bunch of us went to Lk of the Pines a little boy drowned at the docks because he fell in unsupervised.
A little bitchin' from the youngsters for having to wear a life jacket is well worth the potential concequences.

When we were kids my grandparents lived on Cedar Creek. My bother was a water hound. He was not even allowed outside without his life jacket on. I'm 8 years older than him and we used laugh at him riding his bike with his life jacket on. But needless to say he would always in up in the water sooner or later. He was a good swimmer my mom taught him to swim at 10 months old. But that doesn't matter. Always a life jacket when near water.

Today my boyfriend almost fell in the spillway, he was walking towards me so he can get a better look at my fish when suddenly he steped on a wet spot and began to slide down on the side of the concrete. tankfully he slid to a dry spot and stoped right on time. He sat there dangling his feet trying to recover from what could have been a realy bad fall. He had mud under his nails from where he tried to claw the wall to keep him from sliding.

there was a lady acouple of days ago at the spillway and she was with her kid. The river was very high and there was water running on top of the concrete. the was water was flowing fast ther too. The lady was letting her kid play in the water and the owners of the bait shop told her to get the baby out of the water. The lady didn't listen and the owner had to call the police. Well when the police got there they arrested her and CPS came and took away her baby.

Wow, good for them! That is ridiculous! I can't even imagine what that lady was thinking (or not thinking)...
Some people just got hit with the stupid noodle too many times as kids I guess. I'm glad the kiddo is alright, it could have turned out as a news headline like some many have since the rains started this year.
