I think the Pro's view it as just another tool in the kit. Don't always need it, but when you do it's invaluable. For me, I can't justify the expense.

I bought the lowrance version right after tourney season last year. After using it for a few months I can tell you it’s not for me. I enjoy it for crappie fishing but for bass, other than chasing schoolers I just don’t fish in a way that it will help me much even though I fish deep 90% of the time. It does piss me off that it’s now necessary and people like me that have spent their whole life learning and patterning fish can be quickly beat by a guy who’s been fishing a year who’s good at scope. It is what it is though and I’m very confident that fish will get accustomed to people chasing them and they just won’t bite anymore. Remember back in the day how many tournies were won by some old boy throwing a spinner all day! It just doesn’t happen anymore. Fish get accustomed to them and they will the scope too. I don't know why you think it's necessary.

It's a tool to find structure and often find fish. If you earn a living off of catching fish you would need that type of setup to remain competitive. If you have limited time to spend chasing fish and have the extra coin then it would be a decent investment. I have older stuff and use it all the time to identify underwater "targets" to cast at. Side imaging, 360 and 12" graphs do help locate fishy areas and minimize searching. Obviously not for everyone but it's a tool I use.

Not for me. I can barely operate a cell phone. I don’t wanna have to do all that nonsense while I’m fishing.

Setup like that is more for catching, than fishing. It hasn't increased my catch rate lol Sorry, for crappie i meant.

Been on a couple trips with guides and my kids using livesscope. It was awesome, I drank cold beer and watched the kids hammer crappie. Watching the fish come to the bait on the screen is really cool.

That is not Josh Jones and I have livescope and absolutely love it and it is worth every penny ^^^^^^^^ Correct on both statements. It is a tool for me because it allows me to target individual fish (larger ones) and helps to put together a pattern for the day quickly (you see how they are reacting to your bait and can adjust accordingly for profile, action and even color). As for the larger fish, I can place my bait right where it needs to be to catch that fish and I have even been able to pull my bait away from a smaller fish so I don't waste my time catching the little fish. As for the pattern, nothing is more frustrating than watching a fish approach your bait but will not take it (happens way more than you think but you never knew it before). When this happens, I can quickly modify my presentation or determine if I need to move to find actively feeding fish. It has also taught me how many fish we actually spook which has made me adapt my tactics to catch better fish. The other plus for me is that it has made me a ton of money because I install Livescope systems, make Transducer pole mounts (have sold thousands across the country and plenty overseas) and make custom graph stands like you see in the OP picture. The extra money has allowed me to pay for my truck, boat and all my electronics/gear without touching my regular income. The downside is I have been so busy the last year that I don't have the time to fish as much as I would like (install day after Christmas/install last Sunday/sold over 20 LSTPM since Christmas so have had to build 50 more over the last few days/steps on this Saturday and install on Sunday/have 4 more boats lined up and waiting). I have also met a lot of great people with my side business and made some long term friends because of it. So based on this, Livescope is invaluable to me to help me catch fish when I do finally have a chance to spend some time on the water. As for the comments about being unfair or cheating, I have yet to seen a graph make the fish bite when they don't want to!!!
