Many of us went nuts when we caught our first bass on a wacky center-hooked Senko. Amazing to watch the action of the tips and body on the drop and more amazing to catch bass because of it. Unweighted no less!

So, a few years ago as I pondered whether the sinking plastic used for the Senko was the only way to get it to drop fast enough for the action. So I experimented using the tails of two smaller stick lures and attached them in the middle. This was the first:

I knew nothing that small would drop fast enough, so I added the jig and DANG! if it didn't have the same Senko action on the drop! It caught panfish and bass first time I used it in a local lake!

Even made one in clear plastic:

Joined grub bodies together and the same hard strikes!:

... so no, the Senko shape is not carved in stone when it comes wacky sticks.

If curious about the action, check this out:

Guess Gary Y. isn't the only one to come up with a subtle-action drop-stick.

That’s pretty cool, i save all my plastics in hopes of one day melting. May have to try this.

I keep coming up with new mix & match shapes / actions. Fish seem to like them:

Are you using heat to melt them together or some sort of glue?

You've made some really interesting combinations and I wanna try them out!

Rudy, I cut the parts off two different plastic lures I want to join, light a candle, hold each end over it for a few seconds and then hold the parts together
