Prayers up for these guys!

The few times I've had near misses also involved not having proper lighting.

Ditto. One involved a fool water skiing after dark. He's lucky to be alive. The other involved a freakin HOUSEBOAT with no lights and I'm lucky to be alive.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for both guys.

Yes , it is in the works and will be announced soon. Kevin Bryant is ramrodding the deal. There will be a raffle and or auction for lots and lots of prizes. If any one would like to donate to the event you can reach out to myself, Kevin and I also believe Shane at Southwestern Parts and Service is accepting donations as well.

I heard it from a friend of Zobers. I’m in, as are several others that I know. Let us know date/time and if y’all need help with anything.

Edit….

I’m used to giving them guys my money from time to time, so it’s only fitting that I give em some more! cheers

I will be posting the date for the benefit tournament soon, just finalizing some of the details before I post. It should not interfere with any of the large tournament trails. I’ll post it on here when it’s all set in stone.

If the benefit tournament is scheduled for a Sunday, the THSBA would be honored to supply one of our weigh in trailers and one of our live release tanks to help provide all of the necessary equipment to run a tournament.

We have 3 scheduled tournaments nearly every Saturday, so that is why we could help on a Sunday.

My prayers go out to both anglers and their families.
I cannot count the times when "I" thought it was too dangerous to run the lake at blastoff in some tournaments i have fished. Be it fog, enough light, rain, wind etc. I choose not to run on plane or not even head out until "I" thought it was safe.
I even hate taking off in tournaments where it is 200+ boats and we go out in groups. I find my self going to the first cove and fishing there until everyone has gone. I have even what I do believe won some tournaments because most of the bigger fish I had caught that day came from that spot.
Bottom line to me is this; I have the option to take on the mass of boats, the waves, especially the cross waves at blastoff, or i can decided to proceed cautiously and do everything I can to make sure I will not have an accident. What I cannot control is the other boats and that is my biggest worry.
I have learned fish are on almost every point, every flat, every hump on that lake, it does not mean i have to run 20 miles to find them first thing in the morning. I have 6 to 8 hours to find them there.

Thank you for putting on the event. Let me know if there is any way that I can help and I'll do what you need. Fishing against both these guys for 30 years now and they are two of the best there are both on and off the water. I'm sure that if you communicate with all of the larger TD's in this area, they will help get the word out on their websites and through the contact lists. Message me and let me know what I can do to assist you please.

It is great to hear that they are recovering and the prognosis is good.

I am curious, several posters have said that heavy fog can interfere with GPS, which I was surprised to hear, and was concerning, since many of us use GPS. I did a little research and I can't find any source that confirms the statement the fog interferes with GPS. The only thing I could find said fog has no affect. Attached is one of the sites I saw, there are several others. http://www.gpsinformation.net/gpsclouds.htm

I am not trying to start an argument, I just want to be well informed and safe. If anyone has contradictory information, please post it.
