What I’ve heard is they ran their boat into the dam. There aren’t really any definitive reports saying why happened.

Again both men are in my thoughts and prayers. Im just running scenarios through my head as to what might have happened. Sounds like both were experienced boaters and a single boat accident. I was thinking fog or mechanical failure.

That fog was horrible in East Texas. I’m guessing running by GPS this morning wasn’t smart unfortunately

I hope for the best for him. That’s a long recovery

Will have to say BS to that Each angler chooses if they are willing to go out or not

We all make our own decisions about what we’re comfortable to run in or into

TD’s are not at fault I hope and pray they will over come this

Nothing you can put on anyone for an accident or no one would ever leave the ramp

Had to be something else
This is their home lake and after seeing the pic of the boat on the dam
I’m thinking they had to make a move to avoid something

Or he lost his steering and the boat hooked

That is my guess. Or the bolt from the steering to the motor tiller failed. Seen that happen first hand one day at Tawakoni. Almost killed my friend. From the looks of the pic they were running parallel to the dam before something went awry.

Hate to hear it. Glad they both survived and hope they make a full recovery.

With Fog like that can definitely lose awareness quickly.

Talked to someone that seen it happen and also in the event. It was not foggy when the event started. There was a fog bank down by the damn where the accident happened.
