Yes, I won some BC money; and I would have qualified (depending on the cut).

I never said I couldn't afford it. I said it wasn't a championship--in the traditional sense.

I was just offering an observation--sure didn't mean to rile anyone up. I would like to see a championship where the top 50 or 100 teams from each region qualify. You could host it on a bigger array of lakes and maybe cut down on the drive so as to allow more pre-fishing opportunities.

I knew the rules when I signed up for BC this last year, and so I will play the cards as they were dealt. No problem.

squib i agree it is not a championship in the traditional sense, i woul like to see a top 50 cut, but where would they find neutral water......oklahoma. it looks to me that basschamps has everyone wound up over these championships. my opinion is they still have the best run circuit and the best payouts by far. it will probably be diferent next year anyway. thats why i just fish and go with the flow.

great point tim, I would love to see basschamps do different lakes if not every year how about every other year? It is not like we dont have ample lakes to choose from.

Tim, that was a nice boat by the way. glad to meet you at treys place at south port. any problems with it yet?

Fishing Bass Champs requires selecting a tournament lake that can host a large tournament. In this area there are only so many lakes that will hold that many boats. Also my opinion is to stay away from slot lakes. Texoma, Ray Hubbard, Palestine and not much else will support a tournament the size that BassChamps holds. That plus it should have a sufficient number of fishies.

I do support mixing it up some. Lake Lewisville and Ray Hubbard are approximately the same distance for me and they are both 45 minutes away.
I don't want Whitney, Granbury, or Cooper right now. Vast wasteland comes to mind.

dkmore,
Nope I would not whine a bit and by the way I was trying to be sarcastic because it seems to me most of those upset with falcon never say a word about going to Cedar Creek or Tawakoni over and over and over and over. I know what the schedule is and I choose to fish. Yea I would love to see them move it around a bit but hey they get a good draw at those lakes and without a draw the trail would not be what it is.

Mike Keenan,
Boat has been great I still need to play with the motor height but other than that it has been solid the more I am in it the more I like it. It rides great to me I have not had it in giant waves yet but so far I am very happy. It has the best fishing platform I have fished from.

Red River would be one of the "more" neutral sites. Everything else in Texas would be on somebody's home waters. That's what happened last year at Limestone. (GAG!) However, it would still require the South teams to "pack a sack lunch" for that trip. There is no easy answer. Last year they tried to even it out with no advanced notice for prefishing. This year we have 4 months, but no gas money to go there (Falcon). I guess it all evens out in the long run. I will try and look at it as a "special" fishing trip and if I get some money I will be happy.

There is still Conroe. It is centrally located, plenty of places to stay and shouldn't really be anyone's "home"lake.

just think, there might be teams at the "championships" that did not boat a fish all year.

now thats a politically correct championship.

they need to just tell everybody to pack one small dufflebag of baits, then blindfold them, put them on a plane, and then on a body of water while never telling them where they are..That is my idea of neutral water!

Conroe has a 16" min. The whining on the bank would be how everyone caught 100 15 3/4" fish.
