Awesome fish! Amistad has always been on my list to fish. Thank you TXMulti-Species! You need to plan a trip there's lots of huge carp in that lake. They were feeding in the shallows and we could see their backs out of the water. I've heard others talk about the safety of that lake. Do you reckon it'd be safe enough to camp out there and fish for a week or so? the lake is the border, but it is very safe! just stay on the US side. we actually slept on the water on our boat lastnight not more than 300 yards from the US/Mexico border. we were the only boat out there, no fears no worries like curt said there are actually 2 camp grounds off hwy 90. governor's landing and rock quarry camp ground. governor's landing allows tent and rv camping but the fishing isnt that good there. the rock quarry has a really big cove that ends right by the campground. there is a nice big flat there and there are tons of huge carp. it is pretty close to where pot licker caught her carp in the video. rock quarry would be my recommendation! you have to make reservations to use it and only tent camping is allowed. also a good pair of hiking boots or sturdy sneakers are a must as the water is low and about 200yards walk from the campground. there is nobody that targets carp out here so I would love to see what you would catch if you applied your skills on Amistad. if we can help in any way just ask

Glad to see you guys catching carp. We sometimes catch them accidentally when fishing for catfish in 4 or 5 FOW. Fun fight for sure!

Glad to see you guys catching carp. We sometimes catch them accidentally when fishing for catfish in 4 or 5 FOW. Fun fight for sure! Thanks Beak47, we don't target carp they are just a bonus. I agree with you, they are fun to catch!
