I’m pretty confident the 50 mile drive is going to start paying off. Do you drift fish? Once I locate them with my jugs and get a few in the freezer. I’m going to get more serious about drifting. I love to drift fish. Trying to figure out how add more rod holders to my boat.
I launched at the marina in Overlook yesterday. Are all the ramps on the lake that shallow? That water was a little on the cool side when I had to wade to my winch. Lol

I use hot pink spray paint on the bottom of my jugs. I always run my jugs up-wind , its easy to spot my jugs a mile away'.

In that case we may run into each other one day. All of my jugs are pink with bright red duck tape on the bottom. May change to reflective tap. Depends on the wind but I’ll set mine and go down wind and wait on them until I see a hit
One guy anchors with a jug tied to his anchor rope so he can untie and go. Then he returns for his anchor. Pretty sharp.

Still no fish pictures. Only made one trip since last time. Took a friend from church that’s going to make a good fishing partner. I had forgotten how much easier things are than by myself. The weather report was a little off that day. We had moved to a second spot and started drift fishing. We each caught a small channel and Dave caught a decent blue cat when the rain hit. It was a long ride to the ramp in a flat bottom. Lol
Since then I had pulled the floor out of the boat. Thought I’d clean under it since I got a cover for Christmas. I found that under the top floor was treated plywood the previous owner put there. Looks like it has been there for years. Treated wood and aluminum is a bad combo. The bottom of the boat has corrosion. No holes and the only pitting is on the cross members. If this wasn’t my first jon boat I would have known to check that a long time ago. So I’ve got some untreated lumber that I’ve primed with kilz and bought a can of miss mixed Behr exterior paint for 9 bucks and put the last coat on tomorrow. Then I’ll neutralize the aluminum with baking soda and lay in the new base for the floor. The top layer is thin metal with a nonslip material on top. Then put some new parts on the trailer that came in and back to the water ASAP. Ever since I first got the boat running I’ve been fishing between projects with it. Not much left to do except replace the front deck when I want to shut it down again. And finish setting it up for drift fishing with more rods. Also some leds for night fishing.

Just got a tip where the fish are biting and still haven’t finished the boat yet. [Linked Image]

Here comes a picture of the boat I’m trying to hurry up and get back together so I can get to the water.
